It’s autumn in Seattle and just stepping outside to take out the recycling is a foot-freezing activity (though this is just October, so it’s merely a drop in the bucket of what’s to come). I stayed out late last night playing in a friend’s Pathfinder game (I’m a Tiefling Wizard), and when I left the house I could see my breath in the air.
This coming weekend, though, I’ll be in lovely, temperate San Francisco for the Alternative Press Expo. I’ll be sharing a booth with my “Couscous Collective” friends, so look for me by that name if “Mock Man Press” isn’t listed in the catalog. And on Saturday I’ll also be demoing my game MANGAKA!! Here’s the info I promised on Monday:
Saturday, 3:00-4:00pm: Jason Thompson presents Mangaka!! The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics — Join the struggle for comic supremacy! Combine Pictionary and Dungeons & Dragons and you get Mangaka, a fast-paced new storytelling game where every round involves drawing cards and drawing comics. Follow Trends, avoid Impairments (like Blindness and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), and compete with your fellow players to tell the greatest comic stories, even if you can’t even draw a stick figure!

I wish! But I drew this page of The Stiff back in 2003, so that’d be an impressive feat. -_-
