I'm from San Francisco myself (although I recently got back from an incredible trip to Washington) and I love the seacliffs of the west coast. They've definitely influenced my visual interpretation of Lovecraft's scenery, giving it a sort of rocky Pacific flavor as opposed to the somewhat milder looks of the real New England coast. It evokes images that take me back to my youth, when I would sit at the picture window of a house perched high on a hill, looking over a small town on the Pacific Northwest coast and watch the evening fog roll in. When, in my later years, I decided to try my hand at writing a novel in the heroic fantasy genre, the images dalled up in my mind by this passage moved me to create a small seaport city on the north coast of the Island where the action takes place. I only riecently found your site and I find your interpritation to be spot on. First class work, thank you. I don't think I'll be doing "Strange High House" as a minicomic by itself (at least, I don't have plans right now), but I will be doing a print collection of all my Lovecraft comics in one book at the end of the year.
