Lovecraft Sketch MWF: Pickman’s Model
Another sketch of ghouls from H.P. Lovecraft’s Pickman’s Model. The real title of this piece, of course, should be “Holmes, Lowell and Longfellow Lie Buried in Mount Auburn”; those who’ve read the story will get the joke. Mount Auburn Cemetery actually looks pretty beautiful, and I ought to visit it the next time I’m in New England. (I haven’t been since the final NecronomiCON in 2001.)
After a few days of sketches and whatnot, there’s a new King of RPGs strip today! Meanwhile, I’ll be spending most of the day drawing the next page of “The Doom That Came to Sarnath.”
Nice! Reminds me just a bit of Ilya Repin’s painting “The Zaporozhian Cossacks write a letter to the Sultan of Turkey”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Repin_Cossacks.jpg
“The Zaporozhian Cossacks write a letter to the Sultan of Turkey”…Considered as one of history’s most straight forward, colorful and anatomically graphic letter addressed to a (then living) head of state or in this case the Sultan of Turkey at the time in the person of Sultan Mehmed IV…Very interesting people, Cossacks.
Ghouls having a laugh riot. Maybe one of the human-ghoul changelings that still retained their human powers.
