Beautiful. I’m a fan of your Lovecraft work. Auspicious to find your blog now – I didn’t know that his birthday was so soon. Preparing to celebrate…
Nice job. I’ve been following it for a while now. I like the layout with all the weird angles.
Wonderful!
I couldn’t help noticing something, though – I can see some of the pencil lines, especially around the text. I was just wondering, what sort of pencils do you use? It’s just that there is a way to avoid those lines showing up entirely.
Esn — you’re right, my scanned pages sometimes contain pencil lines. This is just due to sloppiness on my part — there’s a couple of “Strange High House” pages which I plan to take back in the workshop and fiddle with. I do adjust the levels in Photoshop to eliminate these, but a certain amount of grayscale looks good on the Web (as opposed to print where I think pure B&W looks best), and sometimes I overdo it.
Have you tried using light blue pencil leads? They don’t show up on scanners at all. They make them for mechanical pencils now. The uni -ish leads are the best (but they’re no longer in production), followed by the UNI Color leads (if you don’t mind that they fade in the light), followed by Pentel PPB (not Pentel Ain – they’re less erasable). Some nice information here:

Even if you scan in greyscale, the light blue pencil lines do not show up. For example, this comic I made was drawn with light blue pencils, inked, then scanned in grey scale (it should’ve been black & white, but I didn’t know better and I’m too lazy to change it now):

The pencil lines are gone completely.
Thanks for the idea, but I don’t like the feel of blue pencils. It’s not too hard to adjust a scan so that regular black pencil lines don’t appear — if I don’t do it, it’s usually because I uploaded the page at 6 AM and got lazy, or something like that. I’ll revise the problem pages eventually.
Thank you so much for providing iniidvduals with remarkably marvellous chance to read from this website. It’s usually very kind and as well , jam-packed with a lot of fun for me personally and my office acquaintances to search your web site at minimum thrice per week to learn the newest issues you will have. And definitely, I’m so usually impressed for the cool secrets served by you. Certain 3 tips in this post are undeniably the most efficient we have all ever had.
